This morning I logged on, and noticed something from a company called RareInk. At first, I thought it was going to be some pitch for an article about tattoos. My cursor moved toward delete, when I noticed attachments that included the words Stockton, Malone and Jazz.
Turns out, RareInk has partnered with the NBA for a 100-piece collection of limited art, featuring players and team logos. Included in that set is some pretty sweet art of the Jazz icons and logo. (By the way, Stockton and Malone will be inducted into the Utah Sports Hall of Fame tonight at a ceremony along with Richard George, Chad Lewis and Doug Padilla.)
These interesting pieces of artwork — available for purchase, of course — were too good not to share with Jazz fans. RareInk is also allowing fans to vote on its next art releases, and the Jazz’s 1997-98 squad is a finalist for the “Iconic teams of the ’90s to NOT win a title” category. How sad that three teams will yet again not be quite good enough to win.

Highlights of the assortment include a Jerry West-Magic Johnson-Kobe Bryant triptych; ‘90s-era icons such as the Warriors trio Run TMC, the SuperSonics duo of Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp, and the Jazz duo of John Stockton and Karl Malone. Additionally, several Michael Jordan pieces will be featured as well as today’s current NBA All-Stars including Carmelo Anthony, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. The collection features various styles of art including ultra-realism, street art, minimalism, and screen print-style rock poster art.
Each piece is produced using museum quality archival materials and is offered as either fine art paper prints ($69 and $109) or stretched canvases ($109 and $199). Every piece is a hand-numbered, limited-edition, with release numbers ranging from 100 to 250.
